A 33-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself on Monday night in his home in Mbilini, Kangundo Sub-County in Machakos.
The body of the man who was not identified immediately was found dangling from the roof of his house by family members on Tuesday morning.
The incident was confirmed by Mbilini assistant chief Onesmus Mwikya who said that the reason as to why the man took away his life is still a mystery even to the family members.
"He was aged 33, unmarried and his body was found in the morning meaning he took his life during the night. No one knows why he chose this path because he left no suicide note behind," said Mwikya.
He noted that suicide cases had gone down in the area over the past months before this incident happened.
He advised residents against committing suicide whenever they are stressed with issues and seek professional help instead.
"We have said and we won't tire to ask that anyone battling depression or stressed should seek professional help, a problem shared is a problem half-solved," he advised.
The chief observed that investigations into the incident have begun.
The body was taken by police to Kangundo Level Four Hospital mortuary.
