A number of politicians graced billionaire entrepreneur Stephen Mogeni's funeral on Sunday, despite their divergent political inclinations.
Mr Mogeni died a fortnight ago and was hailed as one of pioneer industrialists from Gusii, who created avenues for employment of many youths.
Governors John Nyagarama and James Ongwae led other local leaders at the event, which saw a team allied to DP William Ruto meeting that of Dr Fred Matiang'i.
The interior minister was apparently present in the event, in which he's scheduled to represent President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition chief Raila Odinga.
Borabu MP Ben Momanyi was the host of the funeral, which also featured North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko, a close confidant of Dr Ruto.
West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi, Shadrack Mose of Kitutu Masaba and County MP Jerusha Momanyi also attended the burial.
Others were Janet Ong'era, Alfa Miruka, Ezekiel Mochogu, Joash Maangi, Sylvanus Osoro and veteran politician Senator Sam Ongeri.
Nyamira Senator Okong'o Mogeni was their host given that the deceased is his paternal uncle. He has been advocating for Dr Fred Matiang'i's leadership.
The appearance of former MPs Timothy Bosire and Dr James Gesami became the second high profile funeral the two are attending in a period of two days.
On Friday, the two were present at ex-KBC presenter's burial in North Mugirango, an indication that they could be building a coalition ahead of 2022 gubernatorial polls.
