Joe was arrested on Monday after Wendy lamented that she had not benefitted from her career despite travelling across the world.

Joe has reportedly threatened Waeni’s mother after forging a letter allegedly from the office of a Cabinet Secretary.

The court ruled that there is need to for Mwangi to be held for a week to ensure that the matter is probed in depth.

“In my view, he is a flight risk and might interfere with investigations. He went into hiding and switched off his mobile phones. He confessed that he went into hiding,” ruled Ochoi, as quoted by Capital FM.

Ochoi also dismissed allegations that the accused has been receiving threats from unknown persons over the management of Wendy’s funds.

The court questioned why Mwangi failed to report the matter to the police only to wait until his arrest before he broke the silence over the same. Ochoi said that Mwangi was using underhand tactics to evade arrest.

“It is clear that he went into hiding for fear of arrest. I therefore, find the application by the prosecution merited and grant them 5 days,” said Ochoi.
