The users of these models are already no longer able to create new WhatsApp accounts or reverify their existing ones according to a report released by WhatsApp on their FAQ page. The IOS 8 was released on September 17, 2014, and is found on iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s and iPhone 6/6plus. You can check the version of your mobile phone by following the following steps, open settings on your device, scroll down and tap About phone. If you don’t see the option, select system first, look for the “Android version” section of the page. The number listed in this section, e.g. 6.0.1, is the version of the Android OS your device is running.
Any device running on version 2.3.7 or older is among the devices which will not be able to access WhatsApp in 2020.
These include devices running on Microsoft 10 mobile operating systems. They include Cherry Mobile Alpha products, Acer Liquid devices, Coship Moly and Freetel Katana among many others. The WhatsApp support will be withdrawn from December 31, 2019, coincidentally the same day that Microsoft ends support of its Windows 10 mobile OS.
