"Condolences to the family and friends of Hon. @KBonimtetezi for the loss of your wife, Adelaide. Mama Adelaide was a pillar in your life, generous and kind. Thoughts and prayers are with her loved ones. Rest in Peace," Ruto wrote.

The former Ikolomani MP is one of the most vocal supporters of William Ruto in Western Kenya.

Ford Kenya Party leader Moses Wetangula also mourned Khalwale's wife. The former Senate Minority leader was among the first leaders to condole Khalwale despite the vocal politician ditching his party for Jubilee.

“My heartfelt condolences to my brother Bonny Khalwale and his family following the loss of his first wife. May the good Lord rest her soul in eternal peace. Amen!” tweeted Wetangula.

Khalwale's wife died on Saturday morning with the politician sharing the news through his social media pages.

In a tweet on Saturday, Khalwale eulogised Adelaide as his childhood friend.

"When she was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2003 we fought & she recovered. Then this year she came down with Multiple Myeloma. Post chemotherapy blood & bone marrow profiles this week confirmed 100% cure. Amazing that my wife, my childhood friend, Adelaide, has just died!" he tweeted.
