Lawyer Miguna Miguna has backed the candidature of Bernard Otieno Okoth alias Imran for the Kibra Seat ahead of the by election.
In a tweet moments after Imram was declared the winner of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) nominations, Miguna said that he is fully behind Imram for the by election.
He noted that he is ready to stand with the politician to win the seat when that time comes. He also defended him against the accusations of being on the forefront in the cremation of his brother the late Ken Okoth.
Miguna said that Imram was misled by some top leaders in the party, adding that he is destined to win the seat.
“Out of respect for and solidarity with Ken Okoth (despite Imran's misguided involvement in the cremation of his brother)-and hoping that ODM conducted a free, fair and credible nomination exercise - I support Imran Okoth for Kibra Constituency. Good luck,” he said.
Imran, who is the brother to the late Ken Okoth, floored nine other aspirants with 4382 votes to bag the ticket ahead of the exercise.
His name is now expected to be forwarded to the Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Monday if no candidate objects the outcome of the nominations.
Peter Orero was second with 1218 votes while John Otieno was third with 906 votes.Jubilee has fronted footballer MacDonald Mariga for the seat.
