Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has been in the United States since last week.

On Monday, the governor had golden chance with the President and Chief Executive Officer of the International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX) Global, Dr. Kristin Lord, where he engaged her on matters of Mombasa County

IREX is an international, non profit organization that was established in 1968, which specializes in global education and development, and works with partners in more than 100 countries, with Kenya being one of them

Joho, through social media handles, said Mombasa's economic city diplomacy agenda was the epicenter of of his conversation with Dr. Kristin Lord

He also led his focus on job creation in the coastal county, and especially for the youths

"Our conversation focused on job creation for our youth, based on the work both organizations are currently doing around youth driven innovative ideas," read Joho's post in part

Joho appreciated what IREX  is doing in Mombasa and in Kenya at large, especially working hand in hand with Aga Khan Foundation in Mombasa as Kenya targets to host the Strong Cities Network Global Summit that will be held in 2020

"We appreciate the good work IREX Global are already doing in Kenya and moreover Mombasa, their partnership with the Aga Khan Foundation in Mombasa and their commitment to working closely together in our bid to host the Strong Cities Network Global Summit 2020," he added

The county aims to come up with a research driven and incubation start up support road map that will be responsive to current and emerging opportunities.
