Mbita Sub County Police Commander Charles Mwangi has, however, said that he is yet to receive official information on the arrest of the fishermen but admitted that he has heard people talking about the same.

"I am yet to receive an official report but I have heard people talk about the incident," Mwangi said, as quoted by Standard.

The fishermen, who reportedly hail from Remba Island in Homa Bay County, were arrested at around 7 a.m. while busy fishing.

He said that they officers had also taken all the fishes the colleagues had caught before the altercation.
