President Uhuru Kenyatta has appealed to political leaders to shun debate on 2022 politics and instead focus on development agenda.
Speaking in Mangu, Rongai sub-County of Nakuru County during the burial ceremony of businessman and lawyer Karanja Kabage, the head of state said Kenyans are interested in development.
While eulogizing the late as a person who was committed to transforming the lives of others, the President urged leaders to emulate the same in transforming the lives of Kenyans through development agenda.
“He was not just a businessman, but he focused too on transforming lives. As leaders, we need to stop just thinking about ourselves and focus on development and transformation of Kenyans,” Uhuru said.
The sentiments were echoed by Deputy President William Ruto who called on political leaders to emulate the late Karanja Kabage when it comes to influencing policies of development.
He also asked all leaders to continue working closely with the government towards the realization of the development projects.
“Karanja Kabage influenced policies in this country and as leaders, we need to emulate the same in realizing development,” said Ruto.
Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga eulogized the late Kabage as a man who believed in hard work and excellence. He also pointed out that the late lawyer was at the forefront in fighting corruption and making Kenyans enjoy equitably.
The late Kabage leaves behind his wife Joyce Wanjiru Kabage, and 4 children.
