NARC Kenya party leader Martha Karua argues that Friday arrests alone cannot win the war against corruption.
She says quick prosecution and conviction or acquittal of suspects is what the Judiciary should be striving to achieve.
Speaking to Citizen TV on Tuesday evening, Karua termed corruption cases as 'serious cases' which calls for serious actions and not just 'Friday arrests'.
"If we are to win the war on corruption,we don't just need Friday arrests," observed Karua.
The former Kirinyaga gubernatorial hopeful further urged the investigative agencies to always conduct swift apprehension of suspects.
Further, she called on the judiciary to hasten the process of dealing with the cases adding that those found guilty should be sentenced, while the innocent should be acquitted.
"We need arrests, speedy hearing, conclusion......and conclusion can either be acquittal or conviction, because not every case will end up in a conviction," said the Narc-Kenya party leader.
The vocal politician noted that Justice Mumbi Ngugi's ruling which called for stepping aside of the accused civil servants and slashing their salaries to half for the duration of their trial ought to be adhered to.
She took issues with state officers accused of graft, who resume their normal official duties pending the hearing by the courts saying they could continue abusing office and misusing public funds.
