Collins Kiprono alias Mtu wa Census is set to graduate after Egerton University cleared his fee arrears.

Kiprono has reasons to smile again after he secured the opportunity for the settlement of his fees following calls from social media after he shared his life changing story. 

 In a video that went viral, Collins is seen dancing with kids ahead of the 2019 census exercise.

Many Kenyans were excited when they saw the video online and kept on sharing the same.  The elated students could not hide his joy after receiving the good news from the management of the university.

“I’m grateful to everyone who made this possible. Finally, I can now graduate,” said an elated Kiprono.

The 24-year old enumerator had narrated how he struggled through the thick and thin to make ends meet.

Kiprono revealed that he completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Science Geography studies last year but he could not graduate because of a fee balance of Ksh.60, 000.

He also narrated how his mother’s illness had affected him while at school.

“She (mother) has been in and out of hospital for the past three months, she had hypertension which led to heart complications. I have been doing many jobs on the side and whatever little I get goes towards her medication.”
