Political analyst Edward Kisiang'ani has disagreed with his counterpart Herman Manyora over Deputy President William Ruto's options ahead of the 2022 presidential bid.
On Saturday, Manyora suggested that the DP will have to exit government if he is to remain relevant, arguing that the onslaught against him will ultimately force him out.
However, in a rejoinder, Kisiang'ani poked holes in the advice, terming it misleading and that if followed, Ruto would have made the terrible decision.
In a tweet, he argued that the allegations being heaped on the DP are not fully backed up by evidence, making him still safe and validly holding the post.
"My distinguished friend n brother Herman Manyora has advised that in order to become president, DP Ruto should quit govt. That to me would be a terrible political strategy by the DP given the accusations being levelled against him have not bn backed by hard facts n evidence! (sic)" Kisiang'ani wrote.
Among the allegations the DP is fighting is the new one regarding his alleged assassination plot which though he was the whistleblower, has returned to haunt his allies.
It has since been found that the letter was fake, resulting in the arrest of State House Digital Director Dennis Itumbi.
Other allegations include corruption claims, which have seen most of the scandals in the country blamed on Ruto, with Manyora claiming that a collaboration of President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga will not give him peace.
