In a tweet on Tuesday, Miguna held the view that Kiunjuri was shown the door because of the position he had taken on the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

The Canadian-based lawyer contended that the reorganisation of the cabinet was President Kenyatta's dismissal of his deputy Dr William Ruto, a move he termed as a violation of the Constitution.

"Mwangi Kiunjuri has been fired by Despot Uhuru Kenyatta because he refused to join the organized mafia's #BBINonsense whose principal agenda is helping Uhuru Kenyatta cling to power. Uhuru has constructively dismissed William Ruto, too in violation of the Constitution," Miguna opined.

The Head of State reorganised his Cabinet on Tuesday, sending jitters across the political arena with the firing of Kiunjuri, who was seen as a strong ally of the deputy president.

Over the past few weeks, political commentators held the view that it was not a question of if, but when Kiunjuri's sacking would come, as he had faced accusations of disrespecting the Head of State.
