The death of Bomet county boss Joyce Laboso has left a leadership gap in the area.
Her deputy Hillary Barchok has assumed office following the demise of the governor.
Barchok is now expected to name a Deputy Governor to take over his role following the demise of the Laboso.
Barchok is expected to name the Deputy Governor to ensure there is smooth operation once he takes over the office.
According to the constitution, the DG will assume office after the demise of Laboso. The case, is, however, different when a member of parliament dies.
In the meantime, Barchok has promised that he will continue supporting the family of the deceased as long as he remains in power.
“We will support the Laboso family and ensure that the former governor’s vision and ambitions are fulfilled within the current term. Let us all unite and implement the development agenda,” said Deputy Governor Hillary Barchok, as quoted by Standard.
Barchok is expected to be sworn in next week as third Bomet Governor following the demise of Laboso. He then decides who will form part of his team.
A number of changes are expected in the county government rethinks of bettering the lives of the local residents.
