According to Wamalwa, it is still early for him to focus on 2022 politics.

He claimed that he is concentrating on performing his duties as the CS for Devolution.

Wamalwa while speaking at Kipsongo slums added that he will seek views from the public before announcing his next move.

“I will declare my political aspiration at the right time after getting views from residents of this county at the right time. I am currently focused on discharging duties bestowed upon me by the president,” Wamalwa stated.

The CS also promised the residents of Trans Nzoia county inclusivity in the BBI report.

“Do not despair because every resident of Trans Nzoia has a right to get services irrespective of ethnicity or religion. The BBI will ensure there is more inclusivity."

Among the leaders who are rooting for Wamalwa to take over from Patrick Khaemba as the Governor of Trans Nzoia county is Hospital Ward Rep Eric Mwangale.

The ward rep pointed out that there was less development in the area hence the need to have Wamalwa take over the county's leadership.

"Things have gone wrong here. There is no development in our county. Come and salvage our declining economy,’’ Mwangale said.
