Details surrounding the meeting Raila Odinga and Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa continues to unfold, with both sides giving contradicting information.
Ms Jumwa, an ODM rebel MP, was expelled from the party due to her close association with Deputy President William Ruto ahead of 2022 polls.
After the meeting, ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale claimed that Ms Jumwa had ditched Ruto's camp, a claim she disputed later.
"Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa today officially ditched Team Tangatanga and vowed to vigorously campaign for Bernard Okoth Imran for the Kibra Parliamentary Seat.
"She attended the party Parliamentary Group meeting at County Hall chaired by Party Leader H.E. Raila Odinga. Imran was also introduced to the members," he said.
But Mr Seth Odongo, an aide to Suna East MP Junet Mohamed, who happened to be among those in Raila's delegation, says Jumwa had texted Mr Odinga before the meeting.
According to him, Mr Odinga briefly consulted Mohemed and ODM chairman John Mbadi before he decided to briefly check on Ms Jumwa.
"The truth is, Aisha texted Raila. The party leader informed Mbadi and Junet and he later accepted to briefly see her. The office is near where ODM held PG," he claimed.
But in her Facebook post, Jumwa seemed to suggest that the ODM leader made an impromptu stopover at her office, a claim which Odongo dismissed, saying the meeting was not coincidental.
"Rt. Hon Raila made a surprise visit to my Parliamentary Service Commission Office this afternoon. This was after he attended the ODM Parliamentary Group meeting at County Hall that I did not attend!" she said.
Later in the evening, Jumwa met Deputy President William Ruto at Mash Park Hotel where she drummed support for McDonald Mariga for Kibra by-election.
