The leader who has been pushing his Punguza Mizigo referendum bill on Thursday took shots at members of the ODM party over their criticism on the bill.

This began when during an interview on KTN on Thursday morning where Migori Senator Ochillo Ayacko poked holes into the bill terming it a plot to get political mileage that might enable Aukot to negotiate for political space in the future.

However, in response, Aukot bashed the Senator terming him a liar, also including ODM leader Raila Odinga who has been pushing for separate constitutional changes. He termed them as a group of liars who are useless to Kenyans.

"Ochillo Ayacko and his team are used to the eating culture such that when they are out [of public office] they cannot play any effective role in politics.

That is why you see them lying to Kenyans, swearing themselves in pretending that there is a constitutional referendum that is coming for purposes of ensuring that they are at that table for eating,” he said.

He rubbished claims that Punguza Mizigo is out for political mileage, saying that the plan is to attempt and better the nation.

“To Senator Ochillo Ayacko, we are not cheap! Our contribution is to try and make this country better," he said.

The leader also bashed the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) initiative founded by Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta early last year, terming it as a mission to keep Raila politically alive.

The remarks come only a day after a similar one between him and Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru after she celebrated Kirinyaga County Assembly's rejection of the bill.
