A dramatic showdown was seen on Wednesday at Jeff Koinange Live (JKL) show on Citizen TV as Lawyer Miguna Miguna faced off with (Rtd) Col. Cyrus Oguna over his travelling woes.
Miguna had departed from Canada with hopes of arriving in his motherland Kenya but his trip was cut short in Berlin, Germany after a red alert was issued against him.
Speaking on phone, Col. Oguna affirmed that the red alert was issued by the government and it branded Miguna as an 'unruly passenger'.
“Miguna was unruly and that went against international regulations put there by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) annexe 17 which prohibits any unruly passengers to travel,” he stated.
Col. Oguna told Miguna to visit any Kenyan Embassy abroad and renew his expired passport. This claim was trashed by the self-declared general on grounds that his life might be in danger. He gave an example of a Saudi government critic who was assassinated after visiting the Saudi Arabia Embassy in Istanbul.
Miguna reprimanded Col. Oguna saying that visas are meant for foreigners and he is not among them since he is a Kenyan by birth.
Miguna further asked the Kenyan government to obey the court order and facilitate his travel to the country. He also noted that none was above the law.
“A court order must be obeyed by everyone if we’re going to live by the rule of law. No one is above the law; the President is not above the law; Oguna is not above the law; Miguna is not above the law. So when the court says Miguna is a Kenyan citizen that never lost his citizenship, you must accept what the court has said,” Miguna told Oguna.
