Uhuru made the remarks during a meeting with Mt Kenya politicians in Nyeri on Friday.

The Jubilee lawmaker has taken issue with the remarks, observing that the poll was clearly not peaceful, after some notable politicians allied to Jubilee claimed to have been harassed.

He has also faulted Uhuru's remarks that those who were attacked should deal with it personally, suggesting that the comment was largely incitive and dangerous to peace.

"The only thing I disagree with Uhuru ni kusema (is saying) Kibera was peaceful, he should have condemned the violence. Pia akisema watu wajiulizie ni kama kusema watu wajihami (also, when he tells those attacked to handle it personally it's like telling people to arm themselves)," he said on Monday morning.

The lawmaker made the remarks on Radio Maisha's Bunge La Maisha show.

He also bashed the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) for referring to Kibra as its "political bedroom" saying that it belittled Jubilee by likening Mariga to a flea.

Though he admitted that ODM's win was open and fair, he cautioned the party against indulging in the "bedroom" kind of politics, lest other regions blocked it from its bedrocks as well.

"ODM won whichever way it used, but it's not right to brand Kibra their bedroom and referring to others as fleas (ODM walishinda whichever way walitumia lakini kusema eti hii ni bedroom na kuita wengine viroboto sio vizuri)," he added.

The lawmaker was referring to ODM politicians' claims that Mariga was a bedbug trying to disrupt party leader Raila Odinga's sleep in a region where he has enjoyed massive support for over two decades.
