A section of Ainabkoi Constituency residents on Thursday took to the streets of Eldoret over alleged corruption and abuse of office at the Constituency Development Fund.
They now want the area MP William Chepkut to disband his CDF office Committee and appoint new ones with immediate effect due to poor services.
“As residents of Ainabkoi Constituency we are not happy with how the CDF office is being run, there is rampant corruption and you cannot get services such as bursaries, tenders unless you give them a kickback,” said Hassan Kiptanui.
They spoke to the press in Eldoret town on Thursday where they said if their voice will not be heard and the committee disbanded they will conduct further demonstrations.
“If you question them on the elephant projects they are doing they tell you to go to your home county and ask them since you don’t belong here. We elected them to represent us no matter our tribal or political affiliations but instead they are mistreating us,” added Hillary Lagat.
They called on Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to start investigations on the same noting that if nothing will be done residents will suffer at the expense of some few centered individuals.
Our efforts to reach the Ainabkoi Member of Parliament William Chepkut through the phone were futile since he did not take our call.
