Speaking on the 'Inside Politics' programme aired on the Kenya Television Network (KTN) on Saturday, Mr Karori held the view that the organisers of the meetings were falling into the trap of the Tangatanga politicians, who were succeeding in distracting the public attention on the agendas of the meetings.

The lawyer appeared to suggest that the deputy president's allies were winning the war of perception.

"By attending those BBI rallies, what they are supposed to get out is very simple, you go there, and I think so far the people organising the rallies have fallen in the trap... because when you go to Twitter nobody discusses what Raila Odinga said, it was Moses Kuria trending number one, Charity Ngilu and a distant fourth was the BBI in Kitui, " Kipchumba Karori said.

On Saturday during the Kitui BBI chapter, Moses Kuria's arrival touched off a scuffle that saw the outspoken Gatundu South member of parliament pushed back and forth.

The incident triggered a firestorm on social media platforms, eclipsing the substantive resolutions that were made at the meeting by the leaders who attended it.
