Deputy President Dr William Ruto joined world marathon record holder Eliud Kipchoge for the INEOS after party.
The party was organised to celebrate the Kenyan athlete's sub 2 hour marathon feat that many had thought unattainable.
DP Ruto revealed that he had attended the party in a late Facebook ppost and shared a photo showing him addressing the attendees
"Irrespective of your background, with determination and focus, no human is limited. We were all nervous and anxious; but you calmed down our nerves, and broke the barrier of limitations. You are simply GREAT! At the INEOS 1:59 Challenge after-party, Vienna, Austria, " the Deputy President's Facebook post read.
The deputy president traveled to Vienna, the capital city of Austria to cheer Eliud Kipchoge on.
He was at the temporal barrier to receive the marathoner when he scored the sub 2 hour feat.
Kenyans waited with bated breath for the marathon with local media outlets promising to air the proceedings in Vienna live.
Excitement rocked Eldoret when it became clear that the INEOS record had been achieved by the 34 year old athlete.
Eliud Kipchoge compared his feat to Neil Armstrong's moon landing over 60 years ago.
No human being had managed to run a marathon under 2 hours.
The INEOS record will not be recognised by the IAAF, the world's governing athletics body, because it was achieved under assisted conditions.
