Kisii County Commissioner Godfrey Kigochi is on spot over increased cases of defilement being reported in the county.
According to the Heart for Change chairperson Lilian Marwa, young girls are being defiled without suspects being traced down to be arrested.
"Kigochi has failed to ensure police officers working under him are arresting and prosecuting men defiling young girls. I call upon Kisii residents to turn up in large numbers on Thursday to join Heart for Change to hold peaceful demos to the county commissioner's office to petition him to wake up and end defilement," said Marwa on Tuesday in Kisii town.
The former Kisii County Woman Representative aspirant vowed to continue articulating issues affecting young girls across the county.
"As Heart for Change, we will protest peacefully on Thursday to the commissioner's office where we will raise our grievances so that Kigochi can intervene. Young girls should be spared by men and this can only be achieved if men found defiling minors are sent to jail," she stated.
She urged parents to be vigilant and ensure men chasing young girls for sex are not left to walk freely by accepting money from suspects.
However, Kigochi said there will be no mercy for defilement suspects.
"Suspects will not be spared by the law the same way they don't show mercy to young girls when defiling them," noted Kigochi.
