Speaking on Sunday at Kibra's Laini Saba Grounds when he accompanied the party's candidate Eliud Owalo on a mission to hunt for votes, Mudavadi alleged that the second in command is attempting to use his financial muscle to lure voters to support Jubilee candidate and football star MacDonald Mariga.

The Former Vice President appealed to Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to ensure that the mini poll is free and fair.

He noted that the outcome of the exercise will not reflect the will of the people if the voters are bribed in broad daylight.

He also challenged the commission to redeem itself after it was linked to election malpractice in the 2017 General elections.

“Why is IEBC silent when money is being dished out to all and sundry in Karen residence? Ruto should know the house is built with public resources and not his personal resources. We want Kibra polls to be free and fair, we don't want bribery,” Mudavadi retorted, as quoted by Standard.

On his part, Owalo exuded confidence that he is the best bet for the seat. He appealed to IEBC to ensure the exercise is credible
