Head of communication for Tanzania's Simba Football Club popularly known AS Simba Sports Club Haji Manara has recalled how Tanzanians were disturbed with his irritating comedy on their national football team, Taifa Stars, during the African Cup of Nations, 2019.
Comedian Eric Omonid was releasing several videos which went viral where he mocked Taifa Starts throughout the conception.
Omondi was using Diamond Platnumz's 'Kanyaga' song to mock Tanzanians on how Kenya's Harambee Stars were going to beat them in the match.
On Sunday while watching Tanzania play against Burundi, Haji Manara said Tanzanians were largely disturbed by what Omondi perceived to be comedy.
"That artist from Nairobi, the comedian, see how he was disturbing us that person, you don't know that? That match between Kenya and Tanzania, look at his posts, you could get mad by looking at the posts, he could make you angry, boring, (yule msanii wa Nairobi, wa comedy, anagalia vila..unajua alituvuruga sana yule jitu, hamjui? ile mechi ya Kenya? Zile post zake ulikua ukiona unakaa kama wazimu, yani anakutia hasira, anakuudhi,)," said Mr. Manara.
The much-hyped match between Kenya and Tanzania ended by 3-2 with Kenya coming from a goal down twice to clinch the victory. Unfortunately the two teams could not make it to the next stage.
