Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Director of Communications Philip Etale has celebrated Kenyan national soccer team Harambee Stars' Thursday win against Tanzania's Taifa Stars.
In a tweet after the match, he also taunted embattled Starehe Member of Parliament Charles Njagua Kanyi who was arrested on Wednesday after making alleged xenophobic remarks against Tanzanians operating in Kenya.
Etale said that unlike Jaguar, Stars have beaten Tanzanians the right way, mocking them for accepting the defeat.
"We have BEATEN Tanzanians the right way, not the JAGUAR way... Wametetema Wakilambwa (they were shaking while being licked)," he wrote.
This comes days after Jaguar allegedly threatened to whip and deport Tanzanian traders operating in Nairobi over claims of taking opportunities meant for locals.
The matter was discussed by Tanzanian parliamentarians, culminating in the summoning of Kenyan envoy to Tanzania Dan Kazungu to explain if Jaguar's remarks represented the actual position of the Kenyan government.
The government has since distanced itself from the lawmaker's remarks, in what was threatening to wither the good diplomatic relationship the two nations have always had.
In the Thursday night match, Stars crushed Tanzanians by 3 goals to two, thanks to goals from Japan-based forward David Olunga and Johanna Omollo.
