Renowned lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has yet again taken a swipe at the Orange Democratic Movement party, accusing it of sinister motives.
The ODM party has been in the forefront in pushing for radical changes, taking center stage in the ongoing Building Bridges Initiative report drive.
However, according to the Senior Counsel, ODM is using the BBI process to create positions for tribal kingpins, ahead of the 2022 general election.
"I have realised that my good friend Junet mohamed and his party (ODM) in this BBI business are obsessed with creating big offices for tribal kingpins with a view to create a strong ethnic/regional coalition for 2020...they have no agenda for the common man/woman," he said.
ODM has been among the major proponents of the BBI, and it's leader Raila Odinga is co-founder of the task-force, together with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The Orange party is pushing for introduction of a parliamentary system of government, which will be under Prime Minister.
Also in the offing is the creation of the regional governments, a move seen as a platform to create jobs for the second term serving governors.
“We want to strengthen devolution and I have seen here in the Coast you have resolved that you want regional governments. Even us in western Kenya want regional governments,” Oparanya said during the Mombasa meeting.
