Former Zimbabwe prime minister Robert Mugabe  is dead.

Mugabe died at the age of 95 after  a long battle with illness in a Singapore Hospital. It, however, remains unclear what was ailing the deceased leader.

The Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) leader Fadzayi Mahere confirmed the passing of Mugabe. 

Mahere said that the death is a big blow to Zimbabwe and entire world.

"Rest In Peace, Robert Mugabe. My response to your passing is complicated. I’m going to write a long piece."However, for now, deepest condolences to his family."

Two weeks ago, President Emmerson Mnangagwa revealed that the Mugabe, who led Zimbabwe for 30 years from independence to economic ruin, has been taken from a life support machine after he conditioned worsened.

”“There’s nothing more they can do for him,” Mnangagwa told Cabinet.

President Mnangagwa took to social media to mourn him.

"It is with the utmost sadness that I announce the passing on of Zimbabwe's founding father and former President, Cde Robert Mugabe.

"Cde Mugabe was an icon of liberation, a pan-Africanist who dedicated his life to the emancipation and empowerment of his people. His contribution to the history of our nation and continent will never be forgotten. May his soul rest in eternal peace."

Mugabe will be remembered for the political changes he brought to Zimbabwe before his demise. He was removed from the presidency in a military coup in November 2017

 The family is yet to speak following the death of the Former Head of State.

Other leaders from different parts of the world have already started sending messages of condolence to the family of the deceased.
