The court also ordered the police to detain Sarah Wairimu Kamotho, who is the prime suspect in the case, for 10 more days pending probe into the circumstances behind the death of the tycoon.

Kamotho will remain behind bars until September 26, 2019 before she takes plea over the accusations leveled against her.

While delivering her ruling in the murder case, Justice Jessy Lesiit also ordered that the suspect undergoes mental test to establish whether she is fit to stand trial in the case.

Lawyers representing Sarah, Cohen’s family and the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) were directed not to use media to make their arguments.

The court also said that the information will be made public once Sarah has shared the same. State Counsel Nicholas Mutuku assured interested parties that they are not ready to hide anything from the public.

“We are holding nothing back and we are very alive to the obligations and duties,” said Mutuku, as quoted by Citizen Digital.

The billionaire’s body was found in a septic tank at their home in Kitsuri, Nairobi on Friday.Philip Murgor, who is representing Wairimu, has poked holes into the case. He argues that the DCI has no evidence to link his client to the incident.
