The police have been forced to swing into action following the chaotic incident. The officers have since arrested 30 women in connection with the fracas. Led by Evelyne Kuso,  a resident of the area, the women said that the prolonged fights and deaths have made it rough for them.

The women had staged demonstrations in the area before they were arrested.

They demanded the government to intervene in the border clashes between the two sides.  The clashes have led to the death of three persons in the last week.

The women have been taken to the Kilgoris Police Station where they are currently being held. The officers have also resorted to blocking the Enoosaen–Kilgoris Road paralysing transport operations after the residents engage them in running battles.

She asked the government to act with immediate effect. Rift Valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya ordered for the demarcation of the boundary to solve the issue once and for all.

“I have directed the county commissioner to go to Kilgoris and sort out that boundary issue once and for all… we will establish a police post along the border until calm is restored,” said Natembeya, as quoted by Citizen Digital.

The women have also asked the government to ensure Kilgoris Deputy County Commissioner Mohamed Noor after he failed to resolve the matter.
