US-based Kenyan scholar Prof Makau Mutua has praised the Tangatanga faction of the Jubilee party for joining Mombasa BBI rally and affirming their support for the report.
In a tweet on Saturday evening, Prof Mutua noted that Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and other leaders who were allied to the Deputy President William Ruto had finally known the advantages of the initiative and the importance of supporting it.
The former Buffalo School of Law dean asserted that DP Ruto's loyalists had demonstrated their full commitment to support the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) by attending its sensitization forum in Mombasa led by Murkomen.
"Methinks @kipmurkomen and the Tanga Tanga factotums have SEEN THE LIGHT and HEARD THE GOOD NEWS. That’s why he (they) went to @TheRealBBI meet in Mombasa. Join them if you can’t beat them. Or train will leave you at the station," tweeted Prof Mutua.
On Saturday, leaders from both the government and the opposition side of the political divide attended the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) sensitization forum held at Mama Ngina grounds in Mombasa.
The opposition faction was led by the ODM leader Raila Odinga and his Wiper Democratic Movement counterpart Kalonzo Musyoka.
Senator Kipchumba Murkomen led the Tangatanga section of Jubilee.
The forum was aimed at collecting views from Kenyans concerning the report before being implemented.
