Is your Wi-Fi network slow? Do you have to boost it every once in a while to get it running properly? Well, here are a few ways which will ensure that your Wi-Fi is working fine and you will no longer have to spend minutes waiting for it to load so that you can upload your work or watch your favourite movies online.
1. Point the antenna up
The direction which the router’s antenna is facing may be the cause of your slow Wi-Fi. Unknown to many, the Wi-Fi signal is stronger and more efficient when the antenna is facing upwards. The only reason as to why they are delivered facing horizontally is to fit in the packaging box.
2. Select a good place for your router
Unknown to many, Wi-Fi routers should not be placed near metallic objects as they emit electromagnetic waves. This tends to slow your Wi-Fi’s signal. Wood, glass, plastics can also affect the strength of the signal but are less severe compared to metal.
3. Set up a wireless range extender
Distance can be the reason as to why the signal is weak. The further you are from the router, the weaker the signal will be due to the presence of corners and walls. The size of the house can be a big issue if you are depending on one router and investing on range extenders will be a perfect idea. They simply rebroadcast your router’s Wi-Fi signal.
