Magistrate Kennedy Cheruiyot, in his ruling, ordered the lawmaker taken to the facility so that he can be treated.

"The accused should receive treatment at Industrial Area Remand Prison Hospital pending the mention of the case," he said.

The lawmaker was arrested on Friday last week after he was involved in a shooting saga at the B-club in Nairobi. The legislator was arraigned in court on Monday over attempted murder after he allegedly shot DJ Evolve during the altercation. The lawyers of the legislator have maintained that he is innocent. He has attributed his woes to political rivals.

He has promised to give his side of the story after he leaves court. The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has insisted that it has not distanced itself from the lawmaker after the shooting incident.

The court denied him bail and ordered that he is remanded for seven more days pending investigations into the matter. Owino has since asked for justice to prevail over the matter.
