What was meant to be a debate on Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Bill almost turned chaotic on Wednesday as two legislators clashed.
Deputy Speaker Moses Cheboi struggled to control the two sides, with Suba South MP John Mbadi momentarily losing his cool in Parliament.
Mr Mbadi, accused Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro of calling him corrupt, a move that saw him hurling insults at the youthful MP, who is a close ally of DP William Ruto.
He dismissed him as an immature boy, adding that he's the one who is corrupt given the alleged amount of money he gets from Deputy President William Ruto.
"You told us to consult in low tones, and we respected your advise. And then this immature boy tells you to protect him from the corrupt, who is the corrupt?
"He goes to Ruto to collect money everyday. And he's picking money from the race of corruption then he calls me corrupt. He has to withdraw that, stop being stupid," he protested.
And Cheboi was forced to prevail upon the two to cool down, demanding that Mr Nyoro apologises to Mbadi over his initial remarks.
"You're a seasoned MP. We cannot deal with two wrongs. Whatever he said was completed wrong but again, you've also put me in another bad situation. Hon Nyoro you have to withdraw now," he urged.
After few minutes of arguments, Nyoro agreed to withdraw his remarks against Mbadi but also demanded Mbadi to withdraw for calling him a boy.
The house resumed business with the two MPs allied to Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga giving a clear picture of tough campaigns ahead of 2022 polls.
"Mr Speaker I withdraw and apologize. But he also have to withdraw and apologize. There are no boys in this house Mr Speaker," Nyoro said.
