Despite mounting pressure from a section of leaders allied to President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga, Tangatanga brigade has vowed to attend BBI forum in Mombasa.
On Friday, Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa and her Nyali counterpart Mohammed Ali made an appearance at the coastal leaders' conference in Mombasa.
With pro-Raila team inviting them for the rally, Jumwa said that she detects sinister motives in the entire process.
“Although we feel the BBI meetings are being secretly organised, we are determined to be part and parcel of any forum that discusses Coast issues,” said Ms Jumwa.
By Friday evening, at least 25 legislators allied to Deputy President William Ruto had reportedly confirmed their attendance in Mombasa.
The team will be led by Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungw'ah.
“We will be in the Coast to join up with other Kenyans and talk about the unity of purpose and what needs to be done to improve the region,” said Ichungwa.
For the defunct Kieleweke team, Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu claimed that at least 35 MPs from Mt Kenya region will be present during the Saturday rally.
The rally will be the third one in the ongoing series of BBI consultative forums across the country.
