The funeral of ex-judge Daniel Aganyanya has been scheduled for February 1, 2020.
His send off will be at his native homeland in Kisasi village in Vihiga County.
Caroline Aganyanya who is the daughter of the retired judge asserted that the burial preparations are underway and a requiem mass will be held on January 29 at Citam Valley Road church in Nairobi.
"We will have a requiem mass in Nairobi on January 29, then remove the body the following day as we have another service at his local church Musukhura," she said.
The final memorial service will be conducted at Imusubzu Salvation Army church from 10:00am.
Aganyanya had reportedly contracted breathing difficulties on January 17 before her daughter rushed him to Aga Khan hospital in Kisumu.
"He was breathing heavily then at one point he would keep quiet completely. So we decided to take him to Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu to have him checked,” Caroline said.
Unluckily, the ex-judge suffered two heart attacks progressively and the doctors were unable to resuscitate him.
He died at the age of 82. Aganyanya had served in the judiciary for 38 years until his retirement in 2012.
