Two prominent ODM politicians accompanied opposition leader Raila Odinga to State House Entebbe where he held talks with President Yoweri Museveni.
Busia Woman Representative Florence Mutua and Likoni MP Mishi Mboko were in the delegation, unique in the sense that it was the first time Raila was visiting Museveni.
The two are vocal within ODM and proponents of Embrace team which is pushing for constitutional changes in the country before 2022.
Further, ODM insiders claim that the two are seeking gubernatorial seats in 2022. While Mboko is keen to succeed Ali Joho in Mombasa, Mutua is preparing to take over from Sospeter Ojaamong.
In Uganda, Raila discussed with Museveni on continental issues besides regional matters concerning East Africa.
"Held a meeting with President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda at State House Entebbe focusing on regional and continental issues ahead of the Public Private Partnership Conference in Kampala. In attendance also was Kiema Kilonzo, Kenya's envoy to Uganda," he stated.
Apparently, the meeting comes barely three days after President Uhuru Kenyatta was also hosted by Museveni at Moroto in Northern Uganda.
"President Uhuru Kenyatta and I discussed how to support the pastoralist communities of Karamoja and Turkana, in Kenya," Museveni had said.
Raila is not a stranger to international meetings with Presidents. In June, he held a series of meetings with African Presidents among them Nana Addo and Felix Tshisekedi.
Museveni, who took over power in 1986, has been at loggerheads with Odinga often, with their relationship deteriorating owing to Kenya's dispute with Uganda over Migingo Island.
Further, Raila's trip to Kampala comes amid claims that President Uhuru Kenyatta has minimised DP William Ruto's tours to foreign nations.
Since 2017, Dr Ruto, who needs international trips to expand his network, has only visited two countries. He was in Congo and United Kingdom early this year.
