One of the top female musicians in the country, Vivian has opened up on how influential businessmen in the Kenyan entertainment industry physically and sexually took advantage of her.
Vivian made the confession through her Instagram page while advising upcoming female artistes.
"Many female acts give up before time! Please kujeni kwa hii kona I need to tell you it’s not yet time to throw in that towel.. Bado masaa," Part of Vivian's message on Instagram read.
She advised the young musicians to remain positive as they will eventually emerge successful in the industry despite the challenges. As a way of motivation, she revealed that she was physically and sexually taken advantage of while struggling to rise to the top.
"Everyone who told you you’re not good enough will watch you living your best life. I was (Mimi nilikuwa) hawker; I have been physically and sexually taken advantage of by influential men in this business but here I am stronger than I ever thought I could be. Still pushing and staying greatful (sic) all the while!" Vivian wrote on Instagram.
The 'Chum chum' hitmaker also appreciated her boyfriend Sam West for supporting her.
Vivian has produced hit songs such as 'Talk to me', Chingi changa, Cheza Chini among others. She has also worked with various top musicians including Jose Chameleon, Naiboi, The Kansoul among others.
