In a series of tweets on Tuesday, Mutua said that Kenya has continued to lag behind because of massive runaway graft, adding that it is time to tackle the same head-on. The Machakos Governor said that there is a need for change for the betterment of this nation.

" I urge the Chief Justice to set new rules or laws passed for CORRUPTION case trials. I propose that from the time a plea is taken, a corruption case should be concluded and ruling delivered within six (6) months or the case collapses," he said.

The county boss also said that the moves of the CJ will prove to Kenyans that the government is serious in the war to end the vice. He raised concern over leaders who have been set free yet no cash has been recovered at the end of the day.

"This will show Wananchi the country is serious about fighting graft as thieves are locked up and it will also be fair to the accused, some who may be acquitted. CORRUPTION is like a poisonous snake constantly biting our children with venom," he said.

Mutua went ahead to promise that he will ensure residents from his backyard get jobs in 2020, adding that it will be a year of change for them.

"In 2020, for there to be the creation of jobs, money in circulation and in our pockets, we will require a RAPID ECONOMIC program. We need a consultative session to discuss how to jumpstart our economy. For us to achieve Rapid Economic change, we need Rapid Development Programs," he said.

The governor further said that he will launch his presidential bid in 2020. The governor is set to lock horns with Deputy President William Ruto in the race for Presidency if his word is anything to go by.
