A video has emerged showing Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika involved in an altercation with President Uhuru Kenyatta's security officer during Uhuru's visit to Nakuru on Wednesday.
In the video, the first-time lawmaker is seen facing off with the female officer who is dressed in civilian, and who takes issue with her (Kihika) handbag.
Also in trouble are her colleagues Jayne Kihara (Naivasha) and Charity Kathambi (Njoro), with the officer insisting that their handbags are security threats and must be searched.
Consequently, the group is forced to step out of the line, which results in an altercation that almost sees Kihika receive a slap from the officer, which she dodges.
Kathambi later cooperated and handed over her handbag for searching, after which it was passed to her aide, as fellow leaders are seen trying to calm down the Senator.
Among the leaders involved in the attempts to stop the altercation were Nakuru West MP Samuel Arama, Gilgil MP Martha Wangari and Nakuru County Assembly Speaker Joel Kairu.
The security officers later ordered the majority of the leaders who were crowding at the place where Uhuru was to be received to step away.
In his speech at the Nakuru County Assembly later in the day, Uhuru once again lashed out at governors over their demand for a bigger county allocation.
