The DP postponed the trip on Friday to attend graduation ceremony of one of his daughter in Nairobi even though some quarters raised security concerns.

Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack Mose on Sunday said preparations were on top gears to usher in the DP in Nyamira, his second trip within a month.

"He shall be coming to Regoma for a fundraiser. We shall also have him in North Mugirango. I request all residents to attend," said Mose on phone.

His North Mugirango counterpart Joash Nyamoko on Friday said the trip of the DP is purely development oriented, adding that everything had been put in place.

"We were set to have the DP around but he has some graduation function. He shall come on Monday and we shall be discussing do," he said.

Calls to have Dr Fred Matiang'i on ballot in 2022 intensified with Governor James Ongwae joining the campaigns on Saturday at Kitutu Chache North.

"You are qualified to join the ballot. Let's all join hands and support you. As a community we are now ready. Let's go for it," he said.

Matiang'i was also visiting Gusii for the second time. Last week, he pitched tent at Nyamira where Governor John Nyagarama endorsed him.
