The Sharks drew 1-1 with Everton during normal time, but hammered the latter 4-3 on post-match penalties in a thrilling encounter at the Kasarani Stadium, Nairobi.

Kenyans arrived at the stadium as early as 10:00a.m to witness Kariobangi Sharks play one of the best sides from the EPL.

Sharks opened the scoring through Duke Abuya, who outsmarted the Everton defenders in the 27th minute.

The entire first half was a Kariobangi affair as Everton struggled to get a touch of the ball.

The composure shown by Kariobangi Sharks players during the match left Kenyan football fans in frenzy.

In the second half, things were not different as Sharks continued to press harder. However, the game did not go as the home team anticipated after Joe Williams netted a goal towards the end of the second half.

During the shoot out, both goalscorers; Abuya and Williams missed their opening spot kicks.

Sharks goalkeeper Brian Bwire provided a brilliant save, and converted Sharks' last penalty to ensure the Slum Boys are crowned champions.
