Speaking during an interview with NTV on Tuesday, Otiende said that the senator could have expressed his discontent in a different way.  He said that Murkomen allowed disappointment to take over him during the event.

"Murkomen allowed his annoyance to get the best of him," he said.

He also lauded the speech of the National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale saying he tried to show the spirit of reconciliation in his speech.

He, however, said that Duale failed after he attempted to bring matters of the Jubilee party out during the event meant to unite all Kenyans from different walks of life.

"I think Duale spoke relatively well. The only mistake he made was to bring Jubilee internal matters that didn't belong at the launch," he added.

During the event, Murkomen lamented that the program had been skewed. He said that the allies of Deputy President William Ruto had been sidelined at the event.

“An opportunity was handed to my friend Junet to MC that function but instead of taking advantage of that opportunity to rise above local politics, he converted a national event into an ODM/Kieleweke function,” claimed Murkomen, as quoted by Nairobi News.
