According to Maliti, there are enough funds for the stadium that will be up and running before the next one year.

Speaking at Masii Police station on Sunday, the Deputy Governor said the stadium will tap and nurture youth talents.

"We want to create a facilitative environment for the youth to identify and nurture their talent for socio-economic growth,” Maliti said.

He said that Machakos County government is working with other agencies to promote talents, noting that through talents young people will be able to generate income and continue socio-economic development.

The Deputy Governor said there is massive talent in Machakos and urged young people not to sit on their talents but come out for them to get support.

“We are keen to work with agencies like Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) to make sure that our youth are empowered and contribute to development,” he added.

Speaking at the event, KFCB CEO, Dr Ezekiel Mutua said the board is partnering with County governments in identifying and nurturing of youth talents for job creation in line with the Presidential Big Four Agenda.

The KFCB boss urged the youth to focus on producing clean content that will inspire and give hope to the society.

He said that KFCB will not tire up in banning and condemning musicians and artistes who produce dirty content.
