Political analyst Olang Sana has predicted doom for Deputy President William Ruto, with regards to his 2022 presidential ambitions, in the event he chooses to stick to his current moves.
Speaking on Saturday, the Maseno University professor said the DP is losing his bid as things stand now, and must change tact and stop attacking President Uhuru Kenyatta.
He claimed the DP is doing a grave mistake by unleashing his allies to attack the president, adding that his character is pushing Kenyans away, which will result in a loss.
“He seems to be releasing his brigades who are a bit aggressive. If he wants to be president, which he is close to if things remain constant, he should play it cool and let Uhuru and Raila have their way," he said.
The professor also advised the DP not to interfere in the ongoing dalliance between Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga, which some of his allies have been very much criticising.
He said the DP should take advantage of the fact that Kenyans are not fully sure whether the union is good, as well as the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) founded by the two.
According to the professor, Ruto should play stupid and let the two run the show, to better his winning chances come the much awaited poll.
“If anything, wananchi are sceptical about Uhuru and Raila as well as the BBI. They are buying into the suspicion of William Ruto. If I were him, I would play stupid and let the duo run their show to the end,” he added.
Though the DP has not been directly questioning the Uhuru, Raila dalliance and the BBI issue, those close to him have been doing the same.
