Former Subukia MP Koigi Wamwere has alleged that the Mombasa meeting meant to deliberate on the issues about the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) was turned to a Raila affair.
In a post on his official Facebook page, Koigi noted that the leaders who were allowed to address the gathering made the ODM leader Raila Odinga the 'subject' of the discussion.
According to the veteran politician, the happenings at the event centred on discussing one individual contrary to the former prime minister Raila Odinga's frequent insistence that it was about the 'people'.
"In the Mombasa BBI meeting, Raila was BBI. All who spoke addressed him as the subject of the meeting. Though Raila said BBI meetings were meetings of the people, no common man spoke at the meeting. Nor was the meeting for all Kenyans," said Koigi.
He took a swipe at the planners of the event for making it 'undemocratic' by failing to give a chance for locals to air their views concerning the BBI.
"The spirit of Mombasa meeting was undemocratic, silencing the people and excluding many leaders from speaking," Koigi added.
On Saturday, leaders from the ruling party and the opposition coalition attended the Mombasa BBI consultative rally.
Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen who led the Tanga Tanga faction of Jubilee and other leaders were cheered after praising Raila Odinga for having unity talks with President Uhuru Kenyatta and conceptualising the report.
