Tanzanian artist Diamond Platnumz has shared the key things one needs to succeed in life.
The Wasafi Records CEO who is considered to be one of the most successful artists in East Africa made the remarks on Saturday when he addressed students during the Wasafi Festival 2019 in Mwanza.
The 'Kanyaga' hitmaker listed the following things that one should take note of in a bid to be successful.
1. Discipline
Diamond said it is hard for anyone to succeed in life if he/she does not have discipline.
"If you do not have discipline in what you do and in your education, as well respect the people around you, your teachers and those in leadership positions, you can never be successful (Kama huna nidhamu na unchokifanta, na elimu yako, watu wanaokuzunguka, mwalimu wako, na viongozi tofauti, huwezi kufanikiwa," he said.
2. Creativity
Diamond said there are so many people doing great things in the world and for one to stand out, they must have creativity. He gave an example of the music industry where he revealed that artists who have been signed by Wasafi records walk around with many bodyguards, not for security purposes but to stand out among other artists.
3. Be prayerful
Diamond opined a person who never prays will never succeed in life. He said that one should also give back to society, and especially to the poor.
"If you don't pray, you won't succeed, I can assure you that and you will remember me for that (Usipo kuwa unasali hauwezi kufanikiwa, nakuhakikishia hilo na siku moja utaniambia)," he added.
4. Put in extra effort
Diamond advised the students to always put in extra effort and work harder than those around them in order to achieve their goals in life.
