Five people lost their lives on Tuesday night after a grisly accident along Nairobi-Kangundo road.

The accident which happened in Kamulu area left several people with injuries.

Nairobi police boss Philip Ndolo who confirmed the incident said that the accident involved three vehicles, a Probox, a Pick-up and a KBS bus.

Ndolo said that the Probox driver tried to overtake other vehicles where he rammed into the bus which in turn hit a pick-up.

"The probox was heading to Joska from Kamulu general direction and was trying to overtake another vehicle when it collided head-on with the minibus. Three occupants in the probox died on the spot and the driver of the KBS bus also succumbed to injuries," said the Nairobi police boss.

Ndolo said those who got injured were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The bodies of those who died were taken to City mortuary as the police commence investigations into the incident.

The wreckages of the three vehicles were towed to Kamulu police station waiting for inspection.

This accident comes just three months after one person died and several got injured after a Toyota Nissan and a pick-up collided in Nguluni, Matungulu sub-county along Nairobi -Kangundo road.
