The hip is one of the largest joints in the human body. It supports the most weight of the body and assists in maintaining body balance.
With the hip joint being so crucial in movement, a little pain completely hinders one's activity which in turn reduces productivity and involvement towards daily activities.
To reduce and ease hip pain, follow these tips;
1. Start your day by exercising
Exercising in the morning plays a great role in assisting blood flow throughout the body and also loosening the joints. This makes the hips less painful throughout the day and eases your activity in your daily chores.
During the day, you can exercise in water as this helps in strengthening your hips without applying pressure on them. Stretching the outer and inner thigh muscle and strengthening the hip muscles helps in reducing the hip pain.
2. Treating with heat and cold
When you experience hip pain, wrap ice cubes in a small piece of cloth and press it against your hip where you are feeling the pain. You can also take a warm bath or shower, this will reduce the pain and pave an opportunity for the hip muscles to stretch.
3. Take rest
Once you experience hip pain, it is good that you avoid sitting for long periods, sleeping on the side of the hip which is painful or bending as this will make the situation worse. Ensure you take enough rest in a more comfortable place.
