Outspoken Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka continued with his onslaught against Deputy President William Ruto on Saturday, accusing him of sidelining other communities.
At Nyabonge on Saturday, Onyonka, who ditched Ruto's camp recently, accused Ruto of allocating all senior government positions to Rift Valley people, giving President Uhuru Kenyatta headache of ensuring regional balance was attained.
The experienced lawmaker warned Gusii politicians against supporting Dr Ruto's bid, arguing that the community should remain united under Dr Fred Matiang'i.
"When they were dishing government jobs, he only recognized his Rift Valley supporters. He never thought of other communities even in giving Secretariat job.
"It's only Uhuru who thought of our worth and gave Matiang'i the job. He can't pretend to be a nationalist. It's time for us now to support Matiang'i. We must also go for Presidency," he said.
His scathing remarks comes just barely 30 hours to Dr Ruto's trip to Nyamira. The DP will on Monday visit North Mugirango and Kitutu Masaba constituencies.
Area leaders are hugely divided with some failing to make decisions on who to support between Matiang'i and Ruto. Only Shadrack Mose and Joash Nyamoko have confirmed attendance to Ruto's event.
Dr Matiang'i has pitched tent in the region and appears to be sending coded message over his possibility to run for Presidency in 2022.
